Podiumplekken voor Lars en Lucinda in Waterloo, Lars wint Trek Cup

Op de ‘home ground’ van onze hoofdsponsor Trek Bicycle in het Amerikaanse Waterloo vond afgelopen weekend de eerste wereldbekermanche plaats. Lucinda en Lars knokten zich beiden naar de derde plaats.

In de dameswedstrijd vocht Lucinda een felle strijd uit met Fem Van Empel en Ceylin Alvarado. Lucinda reed voor wat ze waard was, maar moest zich op het snelle parcours in de slotronde gewonnen geven. Van Empel won voor Alvarado en Lucinda.

Bij de mannen streden Lars en Thibau voor een podiumplek. Samen met Michael Vanthourenhout gingen onze leeuwen de slotronde in in de strijd om plek drie. Lars veroverde de derde plek, Thibau werd knap vijfde. Ook Pim deed het uitstekend met een 6de plek. Thijs finishte 21ste, David 24ste.

Op vrijdag kroonde Lars zich nog tot winnaar van de C1 wedstrijd in Waterloo. Hij was er sterker dan Daan Soete en David Menut. Thijs finishte er op plek 6.

Komende zondag staat de tweede Wereldbekermanche op het programma in het Amerikaanse Fayetteville.
